Henderson County, County Attorney

After graduating from Cross Roads High School in Henderson County in 1988, Clint worked his way through the Trinity Valley Community as a part-time student, working full time as a correctional officer for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice – Institutional Division.  Upon receiving his Associates Degree from Trinity Valley, he attended the University of Texas at Tyler, where he obtained his Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice.  In 1998, Clint moved to Houston where he continued to work full-time while completing law school at the South Texas College of Law in Houston.  He graduated from South Texas with his law degree in December of 2001 and became licensed to practice law in Texas in May of 2002.

After graduating from Law School and successfully passing the bar exam, he accepted a position with Brown Sims, P.C., a mid-sized Houston law firm with about 40 attorneys.  He was quickly elevated to a position of authority and respect, requiring independent management of a varied caseload of litigation matters.  His cases largely consisted of commercial disputes, homeowners’ claims, wrongful death suits, commercial automobile accidents, construction defect cases, manufacturing and product defect cases, and asbestosis and silicosis claims.  His time spent at Brown Sims required extensive travel and exposure to the practice of law in state courts located throughout the State of Texas.

In the summer of 2005, an opportunity arose that allowed him to open up his own private law practice, back in his hometown of Athens.  After returning to Athens, he maintained his private practice up until 2008, at which time he decided to run for the position of Henderson County Attorney.  In November of 2008, he won the election and took office as Henderson Counties, County Attorney in January of 2009.  He has immensely enjoyed the opportunity to serve as the County Attorney.

In addition to his private practice and elected responsibilities as Henderson County’s County Attorney, he has also served as an adjunct faculty member with Trinity Valley Community College since 2007.  He teaches legal classes ranging from Legal Ethics, Law Office Management, Civil Litigation, Legal Terminology, among other assignments for the college.  He is married to Sheila-Durden Davis, they have 5 children together and serve as foster parents. They are members of Sand Springs Baptist Church in Athens.
